Permanent Eyeliner

Aftercare Instructions

Healing stages, do's, and don'ts

The eye area is delicate and requires specific care after permanent eyeliner application. Swelling is common in the first 48 hours — this is normal and will subside. Follow these instructions to protect the treated area and ensure clean, lasting results.

Healing Stages

Days 1–2

Expect swelling, redness, and a feeling of tightness around the eyes. Cold compresses (over closed eyes, not directly on lids) can reduce swelling.

Days 3–5

Swelling subsides. The liner will appear thick and dark. Flaking begins around the lash line.

Days 6–10

Flaking completes. Color softens significantly — the liner will look much lighter than the initial application.

Weeks 3–6

Final color stabilizes. Touch-up appointment refines the line and fills any gaps.

Do

  • Apply aftercare ointment along the lash line with a clean cotton swab
  • Use preservative-free artificial tears if eyes feel dry or irritated
  • Wear sunglasses outdoors to protect the eye area from UV exposure
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid rubbing your eyes
  • Schedule your touch-up at 4–6 weeks post-procedure

Don't

  • Apply eye makeup (mascara, eyeshadow, liner) for at least 10 days
  • Wear contact lenses for the first 72 hours
  • Rub, scratch, or pick at the eye area
  • Use lash serums or growth treatments during healing
  • Swim, sauna, or steam for 2 weeks post-procedure
